The Fredonia State women's basketball team fell behind 14-0, and would trail by as many as 20 points in the first half before a furious comeback gave them a fantastic finish in a 66-58 win over Allegheny College.

By the half, the Devils would dig themselves in a 39-19 hole. Things changed in the second half.

The third quarter saw the Devils outscore the visitors 23-8, to make it a five-point game, 47-42.

With 4:46 left to play, Lauren Mickley kicked the ball out to Anna Chiacchia who nailed a mid-range jumper to give the Devils their first lead of the contest. The Devils would tack on the next five points to effectively take control of the game.

When it was all said and done, Fredonia State outscored the Gators 47-19 in the second half.

Chiacchia finished with 17 points, as did Katie Pitcher. Rae White added 10 points. Mickley finished with a team-high eight rebounds.

Allegheny (5-5) had four players in double digits, led by Zoe Youdell with 16.

Fredonia State caused 19 turnovers, including 15 in the decisive second half. Chiacchia and Pitcher each had three steals.

Both teams had 36 rebounds and nailed three 3-pointers. The Devils shot 39 percent from the floor to Allegheny's 36 percent, and were 15 of 24 from the line while the Gators were 11 of 13.

The Devils (3-4) will now hit the books for finals week and are off until a Jan. 4 game at Houghton College.
