The Policy Offices uses two main templates for policy development and/or modifications. The Policy Glossary document defines all of the terms used in the templates.
Policy Charter
The Policy Charter is used to guide the drafting of the actual policy. The charter is a brief, confidential document that proposes a new policy or major revisions to an existing policy. The document describes the background, justification, and the likely impact of the new or revised policy. It is presented by the Responsible Executive to the President's Cabinet.
Policy Template
A template used by the Policy Development Team to draft a new or revised policy. Cabinet approved policies are published in this official template in the Policy Library.
