What to expect and prepare for:
Representatives from different majors and minors will be available to talk to you about your interests, career aspirations, and answer questions you may have about declaring or exploring the major.
- Visit departments offering majors, minors, or certificates relating to your interests.
- Ask department representative about recommended introductory courses and supplementary courses to explore.
- Meet with department representative to discuss what you can gain from this major, minor, or certificate program, both in your academic and professional development.
- Inquire about “outside-the-classroom” opportunities, such as research, internships, or study-away programs offered through the department(s).
- Be open to exploration of options, including introducing yourself to academic programs you have not studied before.
- Visit and connect with undergraduate representative of your prospective and/or declared major(s) and minor(s).
- Inquire about suggested major and minor elective courses that relate much more closely with your area of interest within the subjects.
- Identify appropriate courses to take next semester.
- Inquire about “outside-the-classroom” opportunities, such as research, internships, or study-away programs offered through the department(s).
