The College of Education, Health Sciences, and Human Services at Fredonia prepares high quality, highly qualified candidates for certification in the areas of Literacy, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, Childhood Education, Early Childhood Education, Childhood Inclusive Education, and Early Childhood/Childhood Education programs at the undergraduate level, leading to initial certification in these areas.

The Education Department also supports all of the teacher certification programs on campus by offering state of the art courses in child and adolescent development, educational psychology, and educational research. Professional Licensure Disclosure

Successful completion of SUNY Fredonia’s teacher education programs is sufficient for meeting the educational requirements for licensure or certification in New York as a teacher. Successful completion of the program may also be sufficient for meeting the educational requirements for licensure or certification in other states, but this has not been determined by SUNY Fredonia. Enrolled students and prospective students are strongly encouraged to contact their states’ certification entity to review all licensure and certification requirements imposed by that state.
