The Fredonia Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP) is one of 117 STEP projects across New York State, funded by the New York State Department of Education’s Office of Postsecondary Access, Support, and Success (OPASS).

This program seeks to increase the number of historically underrepresented (African American, Black, Hispanic, Latino, Native American, Alaskan American) or economically disadvantaged (under NYS Opportunity guidelines) grade 7-12 students who are prepared to enter college and improve their participation rate in mathematics, science, technology, health-related fields, and the licensed professions.

The Fredonia STEP Program currently serves eligible students in the Gowanda, Salamanca, Dunkirk, Randolph Academy, and Olean School Districts.
