Professor Smith was Managing Director of Scottish media company Fierce Films, based in Edinburgh, UK that won Best New Business in Scotland award. Concentrating on documentary/drama, broadcast credits include the BBC. Working with clients such as The Commonwealth Heads of Government and Edinburgh Grand Opera enabled her work to have an international distribution. As Scottish Correspondent for Sky News Medical Channel, assignments took her all over Northern Britain.
Published work includes reviews for the UFVA quarterly journal. Peter Lang Publishing included chapters of her work Class Wars. How to use your Jedi Master and Q The Teacher, lessons from the 24th Century.
Priscilla’s Legacy a documentary about a slave girl, won Best Regional Short at the Charleston Film Festival 2014. Moods, Mountains and Masterpieces. A Portrait of An Artist won 2 separate BEA Creative Excellence awards. She collaborated on Good Storytelling with Professor Mike Igoe, Communication Among the Hemlocks. Fantastic Stories from Fredonia, NY has been screened internationally.
