After practicing law on Wall Street and in Washington DC for nearly a decade, I came to my senses and focused on the analysis of literatures and cultures instead. Now, you can find me reading my favorite authors -- Dickens, Eliot, Trollope, the Brownings -- aloud to myself in a fake British accent. I am also the coach of Fredonia's nationally recognized mock trial team and one of our pre-law advisors for students considering law school.
Victorian and Romantic literature, romanticism in world literature, British imperialism, mystery and detective fiction, narrative theory, argumentative writing, the ethics of writing.
The role of lying in national identity formation, role-immersion pedagogy, contemporary uses of rhetorical theory.
