Born in Cincinnati, OH. Attended US Naval Academy. Received B.A. in History from University of Cincinnati and Ph.D. from the College of William and Mary in 1995. Held tenure-track positions at St. John's University and at Indiana State University before coming to Fredonia in 2003.
Colonial and Revolutionary America, Early Modern Atlantic World, and Early American Ethnohistory.
Intercultural interaction and cultural brokers in colonial Northeastern North America (specifically interpreters among the Iroquois, 1660-1775), and Atlantic port city waterfronts as zones of cultural interaction (Philadelphia, at present).
