This class (3 credits) is divided into four different modules/themes (Geography; Identities; Media; Culture and Society) and is designed for students who are interested in receiving a comprehensive overview of modern Italian culture and civilization with focus on literature, language, art, popular music, cinema, history, politics, design, fashion, and mass media. Through an overview of modern Italian culture, students will acquire an understanding of Italian civilization over time, and especially since 1945. This class will help the students to situate Italy within Europe historically and culturally.
