Liberal Arts Seminar Course (LART 150)*

*Currently offered only in fall semesters

As part of the Academic Exploration Program, first-year first semester students take this one-credit course. Taught by faculty and professional staff, students will begin to learn about the major/career decision making process, including self assessment, evaluation of majors and careers, and resources available on campus.

This seminar is designed to help you learn about college majors, career options, Fredonia’s many student resources, and of course, yourself. It's not expected that you’ll have made a final decision by the end of the semester, but when you do make a decision, whenever you make it, it will be better informed and better suited to you. Because of this course, whatever you choose to pursue, you will be familiar with the resources Fredonia has to offer you to make your academic career a success. To that end, this seminar will cover a great deal of information. You will explore your own interests, skills, values, strengths and personality, and learn what majors and careers are a match for them. You will hear from faculty, office staff, and organizations on campus that exist to help you reach your goals. Finally, you will research a career that holds some special appeal for you and learn all you can about it.
