Congratulations and welcome to the Big Blue Family! Below is a checklist and information about getting #FREDready for your life on campus.
We have have information available for international and graduate students.
Initial steps
You've decided! And you've made a great decision!
Your $100 deposit reserves your space in the incoming class. This deposit covers your residence hall deposit ($50) and your academic deposit ($50).
Fall Deposit Date: May 1 (or 30-days from the date of acceptance, but no later than 7 days prior to the start of class).
Spring Deposit Date: December 1 (or 30-days from the date of acceptance, but no later than 7 days prior to the start of classes)

There are two main sets of credentials you will use at Fredonia:

Fredonia ID# (F0xxxxxx) and PIN:

You will receive your Fredonia ID# from the Admissions Office upon completion of your application.

Your 6-digit birthdate (MMDDYY format) is your initial PIN for the first time you log in. (You will be required to immediately create a new "pin" and security answers so you can reset the pin in the future if necessary).

You will use your Fredonia ID# for "YourConnection" portal ONLY. You will access YourConnection to pay your deposit, complete the housing application, register for classes, view semester grades, accept financial aid, access billing records, and view academic transcripts.

eServices username and password:

Your eServices username is posted in "Your Connection" under the "Personal Information" tab. Just click on the "View User ID and Passwords" link.

You will need to create your own password for this username using the fredPASS tool.

You will use your eServices login for things like email, campus WIFI, FREDLearn (Fredonia's Learning Management System), and more.

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for financial aid.

Apply for the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). This can be done as part of the FAFSA application or separately.

Apply for the NYS Excelsior Scholarship, if eligible. Check eligibility on the Excelsior Scholarship Program page.

Find out about additional scholarship opportunities through the Fredonia College Foundation (newly-admitted students will need pay their deposit to match to opportunities through the system.)
After you submit your deposit
The Housing Application allows you to rank your living preferences. Log into "Your Connection" using your Fredonia ID# and PIN. Then, select the "Student" tab and then the MyHousing link to complete the application!

For fall housing, the application opens in March.

For spring housing, the application opens in October.
If you'd like, you may choose your own roommate!
Students will be able to request a particular roommate during a specific window of time. Make sure to check your FREDmail account to know when you may complete roommate matching.

We build your first-semester course schedule for you!
A team of Academic Advisors create a preliminary course schedule for every new student based on your transcripts, intended major and a completed Course Scheduling Survey. Directions on how to complete this survey are emailed to your FREDmail account.
You will also receive an email notification to your FREDmail account that your course schedule is ready to view! Schedule adjustments may only be made after participating in an Academic Advising Appointment following completion of the FREDReady Mini-Course.

The Jump Start Enrollment Program is a two-step online process.
STEP 1: FREDReady Mini-Course
The first step is to complete an online mini-course using the FREDLearn tool. You can do this at your own pace; it must complete this digital course before classes start. This mini-course helps you prepare for your first academic advising appointment and provides important information regarding becoming a Fredonia student.
You will use your eServices credentials to log into the FREDLearn system. An email will be sent when the mini-course is available.
STEP 2: Academic Advising Appointment
All Fredonia students are required to be advised before registering for classes each semester. As a new student you will have an opportunity to meet virtually with an academic advisor to finalize or make any necessary changes to your semester course schedule. After you complete the “Tools for Learning” lesson within the FREDReady mini-course, you will receive an email with a link and instructions on how to sign up for an individual academic advising appointment with an advisor.
Here are the forms required by SUNY and the New York State Department of Health:
1.) Submit a copy of your Immunization Records (MMR and Meningitis) to the Student Health Center via email, mail, or fax.
2.) Complete the Meningitis Vaccine Form in "Your Connection."
3.) If you are under the age of 18, please submit an Authorization for Care of Under Age 18 Form

Before you begin your first semester
Enrollment Verification
All students must complete the Enrollment Verification survey available in "Your Connection" prior to the 15th day of classes. This verification survey is something that all students must complete every semester that they are enrolled at Fredonia.
Fredonia students receive a university ID card, known as a FREDCard. You will need this card to access buildings, use campus printers, secure items from Reed Library, attend events, and much more! You will be sent an email with details about FREDCard processing and pick up during move-in and New Student Orientation.
All incoming students must log into their MyFSA account with their eServices username & password to confirm their meal plan. Once confirmed, it will be listed on the eBill for payment.

We must receive final official transcripts with a graduation date showing successful completion of your current studies. You will also want to send any AP, IB, CLEP or college coursework you have completed in High School. All official college transcripts and test scores can be sent to admissions@fredonia.edu or in the mail to this address:

"Consent and Respect” is an online alcohol, drug, and sexual assault education course that is required of all new students at Fredonia. Login instructions will be emailed to your email account prior to the start of the semester and must completed by either September 30 for the Fall semester or February 28 for the Spring semester.

- Upload antivirus software
- Install all computer operating system critical & security updates.
- Review the student technology recommendations brochure and resources from various departments.
- Get rid of any illegally downloaded copyright materials (music, videos, movies, etc.)
New Student Orientation (NSO) consists of workshops, activities, and events to assist students in preparing to live and learn on campus. There are both optional and mandatory requirements. Program components are offered both virtually and in person when possible and include:
- New Student Orientation Workshops
- Campus tour to navigate spaces (find classrooms, dining halls, etc.)
- Exposure to academic and personal support services
- Build relationship networks
You will receive information in your email about NSO activities.
If you will be parking a car on campus during the day or overnight, you will need to register your vehicle and secure a parking permit.
