By Car
Directions via New York State Thruway to the Admissions Office in Maytum Hall, 6th floor.
- Take I 90 to Exit 59 (Dunkirk & Fredonia).
- After toll booth continue straight through the traffic lights until you come to a "T" intersection with Central Avenue.
- Turn left onto Central Ave.
- At the next traffic signal, for 280 Central Avenue, turn right into the main entrance of the campus.
- Please park in the campus parking lots #1, #6, or #7, located near Ring Road and Symphony Circle. See Parking Lot map.
Directions via I-86 (Rt. 17) / Rt. 60 North to the Admissions Office in Maytum Hall, 6th floor.
- I-86 to Route 60 North exit at Jamestown
- Remain on Rt. 60 North until you reach the intersection of Rts. 60 & 20 in Fredonia, about 25 miles.
- Turn left on Rt. 20 and proceed to Temple/Water Street.
- Turn right on Temple St.
- Turn right at 2nd traffic light onto Central Ave.
- After traffic signal look for 280 Central Avenue, main entrance of the campus on the left.
- Please park in the campus parking lots #1, #6, or #7, located near Ring Road and Symphony Circle. See Parking Lot map.

By Plane
Several major airlines serve the nearby Buffalo area. The airport is 50 miles from Fredonia. Visit the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
Several rental companies offer car rental services from the Buffalo Airport. There is also the opportunity to take a taxi to the Buffalo Bus Terminal. From here, you can take the Coach USA bus from Buffalo, NY to Fredonia. For more information on this bus, please contact the Fredonia Ticket Office 716-673-3501.
To travel from Buffalo-Niagara International Airport to SUNY Fredonia
Option A: Public Bus
- From the airport, take one of the following NFTA buses to the Eagle Street & Washington Street bus stop. You will need exactly $2 for the fare. The driver cannot give change.
- “24B DOWNTOWN” - Approximately 45 minutes from the airport to Eagle Street & Washington Street
OR - “24L DOWNTOWN WASHINGTON LIMITED STOPS” - Approximately 35 minutes from the airport to Eagle Street & Washington Street
- “24B DOWNTOWN” - Approximately 45 minutes from the airport to Eagle Street & Washington Street
From there, take a short walk to the Buffalo bus station which is located at 181 Ellicott Street.
- Next, transfer to a COACH USA bus at the downtown Buffalo bus station:
- Buy a ticket for the "SUNY Fredonia" stop from the Coach USA desk or from the COACH USA bus driver (One way: $6.20, Round Trip: $11.80). See the Coach USA bus timetable for travel times from the Buffalo Bus Station to the SUNY Fredonia stop.
Option B: Taxi
There will be taxis waiting in a taxi queue at the airport.
- You can hire a taxi to take you to SUNY Fredonia but the fair will be approximately $120 without tip.
- The car ride should take approximately one hour to campus.
By Train
Amtrak (1-800-USA-RAIL) runs a line to Exchange Street Station in Buffalo, NY. From there it is a quick walk to the Buffalo Metro (Bus) Station for a Coach USA connection to Fredonia.
Directions from the Amtrak Exchange Street Station to Bus Stations at 181 Ellicott Street (walking)
1. Start going WEST on Exchange Street towards Washington Street
2. Turn RIGHT onto Washington Street
3. Turn RIGHT onto S. Division Street/ NY-5 E
4. Turn LEFT onto Ellicott St. Continue to 181 Ellicott Street Bus Station
