The Dr. Robert Wettingfeld Undergraduate Research Award
This award is named for Dr. Robert Wettingfeld, a dedicated and caring physician in the Jamestown area for over 40 years. A graduate of the New York University College of Medicine in 1946 and certified in internal medicine in 1954, Dr. Wettingfeld served in the US Public Health Service, his post being Memphis, TN, where he was the Chief of Medicine. Dr. Wettingfeld moved to Jamestown in 1954 and established a private practice. He served on the staff of Jamestown General Hospital and WCA Hospital until his retirement in 1992. Dr. Wettingfeld was also the founding executive director of the Holmberg Foundation. The Dr. Robert Wettingfeld Undergraduate Research Award provides fellowship funding for summer undergraduate and graduate research opportunities.
