An opening reception to celebrate the exhibition will be held on Friday, Jan. 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the gallery at 468 Washington St., Buffalo. The event is free and open to the general public. The ongoing exhibition can be seen during regular gallery hours, noon to 6 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday.

The exhibition features artist books and prints by Ms. Kambs and Mr. Frerichs, two artists with Midwestern origins. They received their graduate degrees from the University of Iowa in Book Arts/Photography and Printmaking/Drawing and have since relocated to Western New York. Kambs’ artist books, prints, and photogravures mark time and directly trace her interactions and environmental concerns. Frerichs’ recent sculptural artist books and prints respond to local geological landscape characteristics within a geopolitical and cultural context.

Kambs and Frerichs’ show is the fifth in the 5 x 12 series at WNYBAC, a New York State Council for the Arts-funded year-long residency program which features five artists over the course of 12 months.
