Fredonia’s departments of Interdisciplinary Studies and World Languages and Cultures will be screening the Academy Award winning film, “The Great Beauty,” on Monday, Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Fenton Hall Room 105. The screening is free and open to the campus and local communities.
The 2013 Italian film was directed and co-written by Paolo Sorrentino and won the Academy Award for “Best Foreign Language Film” earlier in the year. The story’s protagonist, Jep Gambardella, is an aging socialite who, after having written a famous novel in his 20s, has retired in Rome. After his 65th birthday, Gambardella walks the streets of the city reflecting on his life.
