The campus' eighth annual Fall Sweep will take place this Sunday, Nov. 4, at 10 a.m. Fall sweep is SUNY Fredonia’s biggest community outreach project, and one to which both students and the local community look forward.

Lauren Orlowski, a sophomore public relations major and member of Applied Communications Association (ACA) has participated in Fall Sweep for the past two years now. “I look forward to Fall Sweep! I get to spend time with my friends, but I also get to be part of something that helps the local community,” she said.

Every year, Fredonia students gather in groups to rake the lawns of Fredonia residents. This year there are over 30 student organizations and over 500 students participating.

The Sweep will begin at the Steele Hall Field House. Groups participating will be given designated streets or lawns to rake. All raking sites are located on Central Ave., Maple St., Temple St., and their associated side streets.

This year's Fall Sweep is sponsored by the ACA, Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), Student Association, Fredonia College Foundation, the Office of Alumni Affairs and the Resident Assistant Advisory Board (RAAB).
