A stroke awareness walk -  a community event that provides education on stroke prevention and introduces services available at the Henry C. Youngerman Center for Communication Disorders at Fredonia -  will be held on Saturday, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m.

Free hearing screenings, educational handouts and informational brochures from the Youngerman Center will be offered to participants and community members.

Faculty, professional staff and graduate students from the Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences will also participate in the event that begins and ends at the Youngerman Center, located on the first floor of Thompson Hall.

Now in its seventh year, the walk covers two miles along Central Avenue. A lunch will be served after the event. There is no entry fee.
