The public relations curriculum is now accepting applications for the 2015 Community Partners Program that offers mutual benefits to senior students and local nonprofit organizations. The Community Partners Program is a semester-long project of the public relations major capstone course, Public Relations Campaigns. Students conduct research and develop comprehensive public relations plans, including the development of materials, for one or more nonprofit, community-based organizations. Participating organizations are given all materials at the end of the semester.

The deadline for applying for the 2015 program is Tuesday, Jan. 20.

Three Chautauqua County nonprofit organizations will be selected based on their public relations situation and need for assistance; preference will be given to organizations that do not have access to hired or volunteer public relations staff. Selected organizations will have full use of the research, plan and campaign materials developed by the students. In return, the organizations are asked to be accessible to students throughout the semester to answer questions and provide information, as well as attend several program activities on campus.

The program has assisted 24 nonprofit organizations since it began in 2001. Full information about the 2015 Community Partners Program, including the application and dates that representatives from selected organizations are required to be on campus. Organizations may also contact Ann Carden, associate professor and coordinator of the program, at ann.carden@fredonia.edu or 716-785-3487.
