Dr. Richard Laub of the Buffalo Museum of Science will be giving a presentation on a nearby archeological site on Monday, Nov. 8 at 4:30 p.m. Jewett Hall room 101. The Hiscock Site, located in Northern Genesee County, is one of the richest late Quaternary (Ice Age to Recent) paleontological and archaeological sites in North America. Its study has yielded remarkable information about the history of western New York from the late Ice Age through the time of European settlement.

Some of the Ice Age Fauna being displayed during the presentation include the American mastodon, caribou, and the California condor, among others. Dr. Laub’s talk is being hosted by the Department of Biology and all students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend.
