Freshman runner Collin Barmore
Day 2 highlights for men at the 2020 SUNYAC Indoor Track & Field Meet at the SUNY Brockport Special Events & Recreation Center:
The meet ended with a third-place finish in the 4-by-400 meter relay. The quartet of junior Marcus Torres, freshman Toby Onuoha, freshman Will Guagliardo, and sophomore Griffin Dombroske was timed in 3:24.18. While it was also an All-Atlantic Regional qualifying time, it was not as fast as the team's 3:22.12 earlier this month at a meet in Boston.
The top individual finisher Saturday was freshman Collin Barmore, fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 1:59.08. Barmore employed a come-from-behind style, moving from eighth to fourth place in the third 200-meter leg. He earned five team points.
Other point-scorers included Guagliardo, seventh in the 400 meters with a time of 52.12 seconds. Earning one-third of a point was Onuoha, who tied for eighth in the high jump. He cleared 1.80 meters (5' 10 ½").
Other Blue Devil participants Saturday: junior Aaron Cember threw 13.50 meters (44' 3 ½") in the 35-pound weight throw; senior Aidan Pollard ran 9:08.95 in the 3,000 meters; freshman Devin Eddy covered 6.25 meters (20' 6 ¼") in the long jump.
The Blue Devils finished seventh in the team standings. They were outpointed by Buffalo State, which earned the two Lake Erie Cup points in the all-sport series between the Western New York rivals.
During Friday's session, junior Roan Baxter-Martin recorded a personal-best in the triple jump (12.50 m.). It erased a mark he set earlier this month at Utica College.
