Fredonia State junior Eleanor Clarke is the SUNYAC Women's Track & Field Elite 20 Award winner.
Clarke, from Hamburg, who competed in two throwing events last weekend at the SUNYAC championship meet, maintains a 3.96 grade-point average as an Early Childhood/Childhood Education major. Her GPA was the highest among all the women competing at the SUNYAC meet.
She finished second in the javelin to earn SUNYAC all-conference recognition.
The SUNYAC Elite 20, is an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, which recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.
Clarke is the second Blue Devil to earn a SUNYAC Elite 20 award this spring. Jane Chiacchia, a junior on the women's tennis team, was the first.
