Victor Tracy scored a pair of goals and Jacob Haynes extended his point streak to 13 games in Fredonia State's 4-4 tie with Potsdam on Pink The Rink 2020 at Steele Hall.
Tommy Martyn and Bryce Witman had the other Fredonia State goals. It was the first as a collegian for Witman, a freshman playing in his 16th game.
Bryce Ferrell had a pair of goals, including the last one to tie the game, and Ethan Clark and Devin Panzeca each had a goal.
The Blue Devils ended the night at 5-9-7 overall and 2-7-3 in the SUNYAC. The remain four points out of the final playoff spot with four games remaining.
Tracy's second goal of the game at 14:04 of the third period put the Blue Devils on top 4-3, their only lead of the game. His shot from the slot came off a pass from Haynes from behind the net. It gave Haynes 22 points (9 goals, 13 assists) during his 13-game scoring streak.
Potsdam countered with a goal by Ferrell with 1:22 left set up by a lucky bounce of the puck. A discarded stick on the ice kept the puck from exiting the zone and Ferrell was on the stop for the retrieval and shot.
The overtime was five minutes of end-to-end action which ended with the Blue Devils settling for their seventh tie of the season -- a new single-season school record.
The Blue Devils wore pink jerseys as part of their annual Pink The Rink celebration. Names on the back of the jerseys were placed their to honor cancer survivors and groups with the proceeds of jersey sales benefiting the American Cancer Society. This year's event raised about $7,500.
