The Fredonia State baseball team saw seven different pitchers have scoreless outings en route to a 7-3 win over Jamestown Community College on March 20. Senior Pat Bigham blasted a two-run homer in support of the staff.
Johnny Genau scored the game's first two runs. Genau walked in the second and would score on an errant pickoff throw. He had a one-out triple in the fourth, scoring on a sacrifice fly by Luke Kenyon.
JCC took a brief lead in the fifth. They would score all three runs in that frame, aided by a pair of walks and a hit batter.
The Devils answered back when Bigham followed a Tyler Phillips double with his first homer of the season. Tylor Murphy then doubled off the fence and came around to score on a pair of wild pitches.
Fredonia State tacked on two more runs in the seventh. Murphy drove in Bigham, and would eventually score on a Brian Chatt sacrifice fly. Bigham finished the game two-for-two with a pair of walks.
Sam Cestra picked up the win with two scoreless innings. Adam Goot, Alex Bellet, Ryan Howard, Ronald Brown, Kenny Ynoa, and Kevin Mahon each pitched a scoreless inning. Devils pitchers combined for 10 strikeouts.
The Devils next take on Hilbert College at Ludwig Field.
