A SUNY Fredonia contingent met SUNY Distinguished Professor James Davis at the American Musicological Society’s national meeting.
Alumni and a current student joined Dr. Davis at the national meeting held in Chicago, IL, on Nov. 16 at the Palmer House Hilton Hotel. They included Andrew Wolffking (’22), Kyle Wolffking, Andrea Layedra (’24), Phillip Suwandi, Katherine Wynn (’24), Lilly North (’23), Angie Seamster (candidate to graduate in ’25) and Chris Lynch (’07).
Where are these alumni and what are they doing now?
Mr. Wolffking is artistic operations assistant with Chicago Opera Theatre. Ms. Layedra is investigating graduate school options. Ms. Wynn is in her first year as a musicology graduate student at Northwestern University. Ms. North is completing her master’s degree in Musicology and Library Science at the State University at Buffalo. Ms. Seamster is completing her B.A. in Music at SUNY Fredonia. Mr. Lynch is director of the Theodore M. Finney Music Library at the University of Pittsburgh.
The mission of the American Musicological Society, founded in 1934, is to expand the understanding of music and sound through research, teaching, learning and advocacy. There are approximately 3,000 individuals from 40 nations in the society.
