The “Waterways Lake Chautauqua” exhibition by SUNY Distinguished Professor Timothy Frerichs will open in late October at Jamestown Community College.
Artwork in the exhibition addresses the Chautauqua Lake water system and results from collaboration with scientists, local institutions and community members. Most all materials used are sourced from the lake environs or are recycled.
An artist’s reception with Professor Frerichs of SUNY Fredonia’s Department of Visual Arts and New Media will be held in the Weeks Gallery, located in the Sheldon Center, on Friday, Nov. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
The solo exhibition, which includes artist lectures and a roundtable discussion regarding art and science associated with the Chautauqua Lake water system, will be held from Thursday, Oct. 31, through Dec. 12.
