Members of the Fredonia State men's track and field team competed Friday at the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic. Here are the highlights:
The Blue Devils won the 4-by-800 meter relay with the quartet of Anthony Ruiz, Ryan Dunning, Mark Schneider, and Collin Barmore. Their combined winning time was 8:31.89.
Barmore ran a SUNYAC qualifying time of 4:07.20 in the 1,500 meters. He finished seventh of 31 entrants.
TyeRyan Burke ran a SUNYAC qualifying 52.01 seconds in the 400 meters. It was his first collegiate race since returning to training from an injury. He finished fifth of 19 runners, one spot ahead of teammate Topher Elkins (52.89 seconds)
Toby Onuoha turned in a personal-best 22.99 seconds in the 200 meters. It was a SUNYAC qualifying time. He finished seventh of 32 sprinters. Among them was Elkins, who was closed in a personal-best and SUNYAC-qualifying 23.44 seconds.
Onuoha measured out at a personal-best 13.42 meters (44 feet, 0 1/2 inch) in the triple jump. He finished third.
Aaron Cember had a personal-best hammer throw of 39.55 meters. He was ninth of 25 throwers.
