Associate Professor Mike Igoe gave an address at the national Broadcast Education Association (BEA) conference held in Las Vegas, NV.
His topic, "Creating a Culture and Content in Class," was part of a panel discussion on student media. The BEA conference attracts academics from all over the world.
Mr. Igoe, of the Department of Communication, serves as the faculty advisor for Fredonia Radio Systems, which operates the two student-run radio stations, WDVL 89.5 and WCVF 88.9.
A few weeks earlier at its national conference, the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System recognized him for that role. Igoe received an award as a National Finalist for Outstanding Faculty Advisor, Radio.
