A workshop that examines intellectual property will be conducted by SUNY Research Foundation representatives Lance Reich and Tanya Waite at the Fredonia Technology Incubator on Thursday, April 13, from noon to 2 p.m.
As a part of the incubator’s Entrepreneurial Education Program, the presentation will provide an overview of intellectual property and all the resources and support services the SUNY RF provides, including all aspects technology transfer lifecycle and new venture support services. The workshop is free and open to the public.

Mr. Reich is a registered patent attorney with the research foundation and focuses on protecting inventions arising from physical sciences-related research at all SUNY schools. He has a graduate degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering and 30 years of experience in creating and managing patent portfolios in electrical, computer and general engineering areas, including semiconductor fabrication, robotics, AI and machine learning, autonomous systems, medical devices and green technologies.
Ms. Waite partners with SUNY campuses in pursuit of growth opportunities and enhanced industry relationships through the commercialization of SUNY research and innovation to improve the world and save lives. She focuses on business development, partnering and mentoring SUNY technology-based start-up companies. Waite holds a M.S. in Legal Studies and an MBA in New Ventures and has been with the research foundation for over 11 years.
The incubator, an economic development program of SUNY Fredonia and part of its School of Business, works with external partners to promote economic growth by supporting entrepreneurship and development of new, innovative companies to become successful business ventures. It provides administrative and business services, mentoring, networking, professional consulting, education opportunities such as workshops and access to capital and work ready space.
