Junior cross country runner Kristin Kelemen (Bemus Point/Maple Grove) was named the Elite 20 Award winner at the conclusion of the SUNYAC Championship Meet on Saturday. An English/Adolescence Education major, Kelemen had the highest GPA of all female runners competing in the championship.
She is the second Fredonia State student-athlete to earn the award in the past two semesters. Eleanor Clarke won the award representing the Track and Field team this past May.
The SUNYAC Elite 20, is an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, which recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.
