Students, faculty and staff are invited to open houses that will introduce the Office of Student Creative Activity and Research (OSCAR) program.
Open houses will be held at the Reed Library OSCAR Hub, on the library’s first floor, over two days – Wednesday, Sept 4, from 1 to 6 p.m., and Thursday, Sept 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Both are free sessions and will include food, fun, games and prizes. Participants will complete a brief scavenger hunt in the OSCAR Hub to learn about undergraduate and graduate opportunities for research and creative activity at Fredonia.
The event will also showcase research and creative projects from students and faculty at Fredonia, and students will learn about travel funding through OSCAR. Students can also sign up for the new Partners in Inquiry and Creativity program including faculty/staff mentors.
Research and creative projects are high-impact opportunities to gain experience for future graduate work and for the evolving job market.
Faculty and staff will learn more about how they can support emerging researchers, artists and thought leaders as mentors.
The OSCAR program is supported by funding from the Faculty Student Association.
