Get back to where you once belonged when Rockefeller Arts Center presents “Here Comes The Sun - The Music of The Beatles” on Thursday, Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m., in King Concert Hall.

It marks the first in-person event in approximately 18 months, and is a DFT Communications Pops Series concert sponsored by WDOE and KIX Country 96.5 as part of the Lake Shore Savings Season.

Tickets are available through the Fredonia Ticket Office in the Williams Center, by phone at 716-673-3501 and online.

Formed in Liverpool, England in 1960, The Beatles became the biggest selling musical act of all time, with sales estimated at 600 million units.

As the popularity of The Beatles reached epic proportions, the band took musical risks that led to a catalog of music like no other band has ever generated. The group, comprised of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, disbanded in 1970 after having set a new standard for rock-n-roll and pop music in general.

Here Comes the Sun strives to recreate this deeply layered and multi-textured creative period of The Beatles using the combined efforts of five players switching between various instruments in a modern rock-n-roll concert experience.

From “She Loves You” to “Sgt. Pepper” and “Tax Man” to “Let It Be,” Here Comes The Sun foregoes the wigs and costumes to focus on what’s most important: the music.

Why five performers when The Beatles were obviously a famous foursome? It takes the skills (and instruments) of all five members of Here Comes the Sun to authentically recreate the deep textures and variations of these musically sophisticated soundscapes.

The band covers the biggest Beatles hits as well as the deeper cuts that are appreciated by true Beatles aficionados.

The band members are not impersonators but talented multi-instrumentalist/vocalists who have performed on the illustrious stages of Broadway and the Lincoln Center; and with acts such as the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Here Comes The Sun creates a fresh, vibrant, one-of-a-kind concert experience that celebrates 10 years of music from the Fab Four.

COVID protocols will be in place for this event. At the time of this publication, that included masks being required in King Concert Hall for concert goers, regardless of vaccination status. Additional information can be found online.
