Paychex software engineer William House gave an insightful talk on SCRUM (Agile Software Development) to CSIT 425: Software Engineering students.

The presentation, given in the course taught by Associate Professor Syed A. Haider on March 11, was open to all Computer Information Systems (CIS) students and was also attended by department faculty.

Mr. House talked about various practical aspects of software development and project management, discussed best practices and elaborated on the role of professional project management techniques with the students.

The talk was a part of the Department of Computer and Information Sciences seminar series.

House is also the site manager for CSIT 496: Software Projects -- conducted in collaboration with Paychex -- in which CIS students work under his guidance on a software project.

Department of Computer and Information Sciences has a long-standing collaboration with Paychex for real-life student projects.
