High jumper Nick Serafin
Fredonia was sixth of nine men's teams at the SUNYAC Outdoor Track and Field championship meet which concluded Saturday.
Nick Serafin had the best finish by a Blue Devil on Saturday. He was third in the high jump after clearing 1.90 meters (6 feet, 2 ¾ inches). He was joined on the podium by Derek Sunderland, who tied for sixth with a jump of 1.80 meters (5 feet, 10 ¾ inches).
Dan Sudyn was sixth and Jonah McGrath seventh in the triple jump, good for five points total. McGrath's 13.70 meters (44 feet, 11 ½ inches) was his personal-best.
Wright earned one point by finishing eighth in the 400 meters.
Marcus Torres, Griffin Dombroske, Matthew Erman, and Wright combined to finish sixth in the 4-by-400 meter relay, good for three team points.
The Blue Devils also sent out a 4-by-100 relay quartet of Torres, Wright, Dombroske, and Gus Alvarez Jr.
Kyle Egan participated in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Ethan Francis and Noah Watkins in the 5,000 meters, Aaron Cember in the shot put, and Cember and Sean McGee is the discus.
Buffalo State finished fifth in the team standings to earn two points in the Battle By The Lake. The Bengals won the Cup, 19-14. Fredonia won the previous four installments of the season-long series.
