Fredonia State's lacrosse 18-0 win over Wells College on Monday at University Stadium included three milestones for the Blue Devils.

It was the first shutout in the history of the program, which had its inception in 1996.

Bri Emery, a sophomore midfielder, recorded a school-record 14 draw controls, two more than the previous record.

Ally Coon, a senior forward, became the latest Blue Devil to record at least 100 points. She had six goals Monday to give her 69 career goals and 104 career points -- 21st on the team career list.

The bottom line: It was Fredonia State's first win of the season after five straight losses. The visiting Express fell to 1-4.

Erin Woods was the leading scorer with six goals and one assist. Madeline Haney added three goals, Sarah English had two, and Julie Culver scored her first collegiate goal.

Fredonia State had 11 players record at least one ground ball, led by Woods and Sydney Buchko with three each. The Blue Devils were credited with nine caused turnovers, with Emery and Sadie Brown creating two each.

The Blue Devils controlled play from the outset and outshot the Express 33-2. Fredonia State's goalkeeping duties were split between Emily Carr, who made two saves in the first half, and Sydney Booth, who wasn't tested in the second half, for the combined shutout.

Meanwhile, Emery had nine draw controls in the first half, and five more in the second, to overtake Katie Kleine for the single-game school record. Kleine grabbed 12 draw controls vs. Potsdam on April 20, 2013.

Fredonia State returns to action Wednesday when Buffalo State visits University Stadium for a SUNYAC contest starting at 4 p.m.
