The SUNY Fredonia Trombone Choir was the invited featured group of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra’s Community Spotlight Series on Saturday in the Mary Seaton Room at Kleinhans Music Hall.
Jonathan Lombardo, who teaches trombone at SUNY Fredonia and is the BPO’s Principal Trombonist, noted that the group has appeared each year since 2017 prior to JoAnn’s Classical Christmas concert (with two years out for the pandemic). The student group has 27 members, including 21 tenor and six bass trombones.
The group played a 25-minute program of assorted holiday music.
Mr. Lombardo worked with the Buffalo Philharmonic’s Robin Parkinson, vice president of Education and Community Engagement, and Rachael Pudlewski, associate director of Education, to make the concert happen.
