Sophomore Meghan Bartlett (Johnstown, N.Y./Johnstown) became the ninth Fredonia diver to be named All-American. On Wednesday, March 18, she finished sixth in the finals of the 3-meter diving event at NCAA Championships. Her final score was 442.2.

Bartlett is now tied for third on the all-time list of Blue Devil divers in the 3-meter springboard at NCAA Championships. Kelly Sponholz finished first in the event (2009), Sarah Ficarro second (2010), while Ryan Fuller (2013) and Christian Torres (2010) both took sixth.

From round to round Bartlett consistently held onto fifth place on Wednesday, until a poor fifth dive dropped her into seventh place. An impressive final dive brought her back up into sixth. Each diver takes six dives in the final rounds. Freshman Maura Sticco-Ivins from Wellesley College won the event with a score of 500.35.

Teammate Heather Colby (Owego, N.Y./Owego) finished in 18th place in the preliminaries out of 24 divers. Her final score was 378.8.

Arron Carlson (LeRoy, N.Y./Notre Dame) and Jeff Matter (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) will take the stage at NCAA Championships on Thursday, March 19 in the 1-meter diving event.
