Artist Raymond Bonilla, Fredonia alumnus and adjunct faculty member, will be speaking as a part of the Arts & Business Luncheon Series at the Fredonia Technology Incubator on Friday, April 7.

Mr. Bonilla will talk about how business connects to being a professional artist in the local community. The talk begins at noon at the incubator at 214 Central Ave., Dunkirk.

“Sharing my art and history as a practicing professional in my field with local leaders in business and education is something that I am quite honored to do,” stated Bonilla. “It contributes to the ongoing dialogue of supporting one’s entrepreneurial spirit in this new economy.”
Bonilla is a nationally recognized illustrator and fine artist. He graduated from Fredonia in 2005 with a degree in New Media and Illustration. He continued his studies at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco where he completed his Masters of Fine Art in 2009.
Among Bonilla’s numerous honors and awards are: Best in Show in the Great Lakes Emerging Artist Competition, finalist in the Artists Magazine Annual Art Competition, gold medals in advertising from both Society of Illustrators of New York and Los Angeles, and inclusion in the Communication Arts Illustration Annual. Among his illustration clients are: Netflix, SAVUER Magazine, Cruising World Magazine, The New Yorker, Fantasy Flight Games, and the Department of Theatre and Dance at Fredonia.
Bonilla currently lives in Buffalo, where he spends his time painting and teaching part-time in the Department of Visual Arts and New Media at Fredonia. In 2016 he received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching. His recent art work is on display in the incubator art gallery until May 12.
