Candidate Carl Paladino is Keynote Speaker of 33rd annual event
The Buffalo developer who is making a bid to win the Republican primary for the 2010 New York State Governor's race is the keynote speaker for the 33rd annual Business Person of the Year Awards Dinner at SUNY Fredonia when Tracy S. Bennett will be honored.
On Thursday, April 15, at 6:30 p.m. in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room, Carl Paladino will address guests at the dinner honoring the SUNY Fredonia vice president.
Paladino is seeking the Republican and Conservative Party endorsements, but has said he will petition his way into the GOP primary ballot if necessary and even create a Tea Party line on the general election ballot if the Conservative Party does not endorse him.
Students in the Business Club select a local business person for the award every spring--someone they regard as a role model for demonstrating outstanding business leadership skills, a commitment to public service, ethical business practices and genuine concern for the well-being of employees.
Tracy S. Bennett
Bennett has been the Vice President for Administration at SUNY Fredonia since 1997 and has been a part of Fredonia’s administrative management since 1980. Overseeing a university division of nine departments and nearly 360 employees, Bennett is responsible for developing a $90 million campus-wide budget and a $300 million capital budget plan, while managing employees in financial services, human resources, facilities and campus services.
The honoree is also president of the SUNY Fredonia Faculty-Student Association and serves on several campus committees, including the Campus Sustainability Committee, which he chairs. Additionally, he owns a tax preparation business in Westfield and is a certified public accountant.
In March 2010, Lake Shore Bancorp, the holding company for Lake Shore Savings Bank, elected Bennett as an independent director to its board of directors and Audit Committee.
