On the third floor of Thompson Hall, The Snack Shack offers convenience and value to busy students and faculty by providing a wide variety of affordable snacks and beverages in one place. That business model has made a success of this entirely student-run venture for decades.

Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., customers can select from products such as chips, candy, donuts, bagels, Coke products, and Red Bull along with daily and weekly specials.  The Snack Shack currently accepts cash only and is in the process of being able to take FredFunds for added shopping ease.

The Snack Shack was established by the SUNY Fredonia Business Club. This entrepreneurship allows business students the opportunity to demonstrate and apply their classroom skills in a real-world setting. It is currently run by CEOs Dan Gorman and Jeff Khol along with interns Jonathon Maderer (finance), Michael Colby (human resources), Elise Murphy (IT), and Erica Bizzari (marketing).

“The Business Club is a great organization, and we encourage students to join,” Ms. Bizzari said. “Not only is it a fun way to get involved, it is also a great learning experience. Being granted an internship has been a great learning tool about how to run a small business, and I would strongly recommend this to any student.”

The Business Club meets in room S-121 of the Williams Center every other Tuesday.

The School of Business offers undergraduate degrees in accounting, business administration, and economics. Through its courses, students develop the communication skills, problem solving skills, knowledge and recognition of business ethics, and knowledge of international institutions and cultures necessary for professional careers.
