With a few exceptions, services and operations at Fredonia will be curtailed due to due to the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. Most buildings will be close beginning at the close of business on Tuesday, Dec. 23, and will re-open on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015.

University Police will continue to operate 24 hours a day throughout the shutdown; in the event of an emergency, call 716-673-3333.

Exceptions to the shutdown include the following:

Residence halls will be closed Saturday, Dec. 20, at 9 a.m. through Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 at 9 a.m. The Residence Life Office will be open according to the university schedule.

Reed Library will close on Tuesday, Dec. 23, at 4:30 p.m. and re-open on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015 at 7:30 a.m. Beginning Saturday, Dec. 20, weekend hours will be suspended until Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015.

The Credit Union will be open Wednesday, Dec. 24, 9 a.m. to noon; Friday, Dec. 26, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Monday, Dec. 29, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Tuesday, Dec. 30, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Wednesday, Dec. 31, 9 a.m. to noon; and Friday, Jan. 2, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Regular hours resume on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015.

University Services will conduct regular hours on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 22 and 23, and will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24, through Friday, Jan. 2, 2015.

Thompson Hall Media Center will be closed on Monday, Dec. 22, through Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, and re-open Monday, Jan. 5, 2015.

The Campus and Community Children’s Center will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24, through Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015.

Faculty Student Association (FSA) Offices will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19 and re-open on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015 at 8:30 a.m.

The University Bookstore and Convenience Store will be open Monday through Wednesday, Dec. 22-24, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Friday, Dec. 26, Monday, Dec. 29, and Tuesday, Dec. 30, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Monday through Friday, Jan. 2-15, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Monday, Jan. 16, 2015, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Starbucks will be open Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 20 and 21, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Monday through Wednesday, Dec. 22-24, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Friday, Dec. 26, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 27 and 28, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Monday, Dec. 29, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 30 and 31, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Cranston Marche will be open Saturday, Dec. 20, through Wednesday, Dec. 24, and re-open Friday, Dec. 26, 2015, through Sunday, Jan. 18. Visit fsa.fredonia.edu for hours of operation. Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 meal plans are not active during the semester break; however, a J-75 Meal Plan will be available for students enrolled in J-Term. A J-75 plan functions for the J-Term session only. Cash, check, major credit cards, Fredonia Debit Accounts and FREDFunds are accepted during the semester break at Starbucks, Tim Hortons, Cranston Marche, University Bookstore and the C-Store.

Tim Hortons will be closing on Friday, Dec. 19, and re-open Monday, Jan. 12, 2015. Visit fsa.fredonia.edu for hours of operation.

Registrar’s Office – Final grades are due at 11:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 26, through Your Connection.

The Employee Assistance Program office will be closed for the holidays, but the EAP coordinator will check messages left at 716-673-3586 if service is necessary during the holiday break.

The Fredonia College Foundation, 272 Central Ave., Foundation House, will be open during the shutdown except Wednesday, Dec. 24; Christmas Day; and New Year’s Day. The foundation will process gifts during the last week of December. Anyone having questions regarding an end-of-year gift can call 716-673-3321. Facilities Services will have limited maintenance and custodial staffing during the holiday shutdown. There will be limited snowplowing of parking lots and walkways and limited snow shoveling at building entrances. Non-essential parking lots will not be plowed during evenings and nights. In an emergency, contact University Police, 716-673-3333. Online requests for maintenance will be monitored daily. Facilities Services offices will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24, through Saturday, Dec. 26, and Thursday and Friday, Jan. 1 and 2, 2015. Office hours return Monday through Wednesday, Dec. 29-31, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Mailroom will be open Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 22 and 23, with regular hours and deliveries, and Monday, Dec. 29, Wednesday, Dec. 31, and Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, 8 a.m. to noon, with no deliveries to buildings. Departments may pick up mail during posted hours.

Central Receiving will be open and make deliveries on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 22 and 23, and Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 29-31, with no deliveries to buildings. It will be closed on Dec. 24, 25 and 26 and Jan. 1 and 2, 2015.

The Garage will be open Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 22 and 23, and Monday through Wednesday, Dec. 29-31, regular hours.
