Alison Barry, ticketing and audience services manager for the Campus Ticket Office at Fredonia, has been elected to the board of directors for the International Ticketing Association (INTIX). Barry began a three-year term on the board on Jan. 15.
INTIX is a nonprofit membership organization that represents more than 1,000 ticketing, sales, technology, finance and marketing professionals from more than 25 countries. Its members work in the world of arts, sports and entertainment, including a full range of public venues and institutions.
“I’m very honored to be serving on the INTIX board of directors. As a board member, I’ll be participating in strategic planning, acting as liaison to the awards committee and attending quarterly meetings which take place in various cities across the country,” Barry said. “We have important work ahead of us in 2015, all of which culminates with the annual conference next January at Disneyland in Anaheim, California.”
As the leadership organization for entertainment ticketing, INTIX offers programs and services that meet the needs of this constantly changing industry. INTIX is based in Indianapolis, Ind.
“From newcomers to seasoned professionals, INTIX is a great resource for anyone involved with the live event industry,” Barry said. “It puts ticketing on the map and recognizes our line of work as a viable career.”
In addition to serving as manager of the Ticket Office, which is a division of Fredonia’s Rockefeller Arts Center, Barry is the instructor for the ticket office practicum course. The course is part of the Arts Administration degree program at Fredonia.
She is currently a member of the University Senate and recently served on the search committee for the Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
Prior to joining the staff of Rockefeller Arts Center in 2007, Barry was the director of ticketing for Chautauqua Institution from 2002 to 2007. Before that, she was the treasurer/box office manager for the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
A native of Jamestown, Barry earned a bachelor of science degree in management from Houghton College. She is a member of the Chautauqua Leadership Network, Jamestown Now and also serves on the board of directors for the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts.
She lives in Jamestown with her husband Len and their children Kate and Peter.
