Two SUNY Fredonia students will be recognized for their service to Unione Italiana, the campus Italian Club, at an awards ceremony Friday, April 13, 3 to 5 p.m., at the Modern Languages Reading Room in Fenton Hall.
Nicole Ceppaglia, a junior from Angola majoring in Communication Disorders and Sciences with a minor in Italian Studies and club president in 2011-2012; and Gina Lanfranchi, a junior from Smithtown majoring in French Adolescence Education with a minor in Italian Studies and club president in 2010-2011, will be recognized for their service.
Guests expected to attend the awards ceremony include Dr. John Kijinski, dean, College of Arts and Sciences; Dr. Roger Byrne, associate dean, College of Arts and Sciences; Dr. Carmen Rivera, chair, Modern Languages and Literature; Dr. Raymond Belliotti, Philosophy professor; Dr. Chiara De Santi, club adviser; and representatives from the local Chautauqua Italian-American Organization.
The Italian Club is dedicated to exploring Italian culture through food, music and art.
The awards ceremony is free and open to the public.
