The Fredonia chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma added 17 seniors Wednesday during the 2018 Fredonia Athletics Award Gala.

Faculty Athletic Representative Dr. Eileen Lyon spoke prior to the ceremony and she and Director of Athletics Jerry Fisk performed the induction.

The Class of 2018 inductees are:

Bill Bradley (Dunkirk/Dunkirk) of men's swimming and diving, majoring in English and French;
Mikayla Capestrani (Jamestown/Jamestown) of women's track and field, majoring in Early Childhood and Childhood Education;
Hallie Christopher (East Amherst/Clarence) of women's volleyball, majoring in Music Industry;
Sarah Couperus (Marion/Marion) of women's track and field, majoring in Social Work;
Madison Courtney (Getzville/Williamsville South) of women's cross country/track and field, majoring in Communication Disorders and Sciences;
Katelyn Dennis (Webster/Webster Schroeder) of softball, majoring in Public Accounting/Finance;
Oskar Gerhardson (Ahus, Sweden/Malmo Borgarskola) of men's hockey, majoring in Business Finance/Economics;
Hannah Koellner (Orchard Park/Immaculata) of women's cheerleading, majoring in Communication Disorders and Sciences;
Jacque Law (Lime Lake/Pioneer) of women's basketball, majoring in Biology;
Lauren Pixley (Hamburg/Frontier) of softball, majoring in Childhood Education with a Math Concentration;
Courtney Poirier (West Seneca/West Seneca West) of women's volleyball, majoring in Business Administration-Marketing;
Rachel Poirier (West Seneca/West Seneca West) of women's volleyball, majoring in Business Administration-Finance.
Kristen Sawyer (Lockport/Lockport) of women's track and field, majoring in Biology;
Emily Stamer (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) of cheerleading, majoring in Communication Disorders and Sciences;
Kristen Stanek (Hamburg/Orchard Park) of women's volleyball, majoring in Childhood Inclusive Education;
Dave Trabold (Fairport/Fairport) of men's soccer, majoring in Finance; and
Jamie Young (Russell, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) of men's hockey, majoring in Finance and Political Science.

The Fredonia chapter was established in 2014 with a view to further celebrating the achievements of Blue Devil student-athletes through their inclusion in this national society. Those selected will graduate from Fredonia in May or December of 2018 with a 3.4 or higher grade-point average by the end of the Fall 2017 semester. Each of the 17 inductees also received the endorsement of their respective head coaches.
