With the start of the spring semester, Clair Wisniewski has begun her third internship in the FSA Conference & Special Events office with a special feather in her cap: “Student of the Month” for November 2011.

Wisniewski, a senior Business Administration major with a concentration in Marketing and minor in Leadership Studies, was nominated for the Residence Life award by Linda Kurgan Monaco and Katie Thies, members of the FSA Conference & Special Events office. Both cited Wisniewski’s eager and outgoing personality.

So successful was her fall internship that the Cheektowaga, N.Y., native was asked to return to that same office in the new semester. Monaco and Thies were impressed with how quickly Wisniewski learned various duties of the office and willing she was to “help with whatever needs to be done.”

These qualities, they say, make her a great fit for the office. In fact, Monaco would like to see more interns just like Wisniewski.

Monaco said Wisniewski has been a wonderful addition to the office and it’s been a pleasure to host her as an intern.
Wisniewski, who will graduate in May, has been an active member of the campus, was a resident assistant for four semesters, a college ambassador, member of the Senior Class Challenge, Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) and Undergraduate Alumni Council and participant in volunteer projects such as the Campus-Wide Donation Drive and Buffalo News Kids Day. Wisniewski has also cared for elderly residents at St. Vincent’s Home in Dunkirk and taught money matters as a volunteer at the Dunkirk Boys and Girls Club.

She is the daughter of Paula Wisniewski and the late Gordon Wisniewski and a 2008 graduate of Lancaster High School.
Upon her arrival on campus, Wisniewski knew SUNY Fredonia was the perfect fit for her.

“From the moment I stepped on campus I loved the atmosphere. The people that I have met here the past few years will always be dear to my heart. My favorite thing about Fredonia will be all the memories that I’ve created and how I’ve matured as a young lady.”

The Student of the Month program was implemented in 2003 to recognize students who are well-rounded, excel in academics and contribute positively to the campus and community.  Those who would like to nominate a student for this award may visit www.fredonia.edu/student-life/residence-life/student-month.
