Michael Clarkson-Hendrix, assistant professor in the Department of Sociocultural and Justice Sciences, presented an ePoster, “Secure Workplace Attachment: A Qualitative Study of Relational and Social Contingencies,” at the 22nd Annual Conference of the Society for Social Work and Research, held Jan. 10-13, in Washington, D.C.
His presentation explained how relational and social contingencies enhance workplace attachment security in veteran health care sector social workers. Applying this perspective to assess a workers’ security may lead to new organizational interventions that foster successful patient health outcomes, especially for marginalized populations, such as veterans, who experience health disparities.
“Achieving Equal Opportunity, Equity and Justice” was the theme of the conference.
