After the women's cross country program had two runners break a Fredonia school record Saturday morning, the men's cross country team followed suit with two record-breakers of their own.

Kyle Collins (Suffern/Suffern) is Fredonia's new record-holder in the 8,000-meter run after his fifth-place finish of 24:22. Collin Mulcahy (Batavia/Batavia) also broke the school record on Saturday, crossing the finish line in 24:39 and moving into second on the all-time list. The previous record was set in 1979 by Bob Carroll (24:46).

Merlin Joseph Jr. (Binghamton/Binghamton) was third of the Fredonia finishers with a time of 25:22 with Cody Martini (Palmyra/Palmyra-Macedon) one second behind in fourth place at 25:23.

As a team, the Blue Devils finished ninth in the 32-team field.

Preparations now begin for SUNYAC Championships in Plattsburgh, N.Y. on Oct. 31.
