Commencement is just around the corner and the organizing committee is asking for volunteers from throughout the campus. It takes many volunteers to make the ceremonies run smoothly.
Commencement will be held during two ceremonies on Saturday, May 13, in Steele Hall. There are three opportunities to be involved, and the committee is looking for volunteers for any and all shifts: the Morning Ceremony shift from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; the Afternoon Ceremony shift from 1 to 5:30 p.m.; and the Full Day Shift from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The volunteer jobs are easy, and include collecting tickets, handing out programs, assisting with giving guests directions and clearing the seat isles. Student volunteers will be able to see their friends graduate! Meals are provided to volunteers. Students volunteering who live on campus can have arrangements made with Residence Life to stay a little bit longer in their residence rooms in order to help out with the event.
