Ivani Vassoler-Froelich, associate professor of Political Science and coordinator of International Studies, attended two international events in Europe during the week of Sept. 16 to 20.
She was the keynote speaker in the Political Economy of Latin America Series in the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Lisbon, Portugal. Her presentation focused on new the institutional arrangements for security and defense in South America with the creation of the South-American Defense Council. At Warsaw University, Poland, Dr. Vassoler attended the Pan-European Conference in International Relations where she presented a paper on the experiences of Latin American countries with United Nations peacekeeping operations.
