Fredonia improved to 3-0 with an 86-81 women's basketball win Nov. 22 over the Hilbert Hawks.

Jenna Einink (Westfield/Chautauqua Lake) scored nine straight points during the fourth quarter to keep Hilbert from mounting a late rally. The Hawks had just pulled within a point, 70-69, on a three-point basket by Taylor Corts.

Down by six midway through the third quarter, the Blue Devils rallied to pull even on a three-point basket by Alexis Cheatham (Lockport/Lockport) and take the lead on a layup by Sarah Sweazy (Rochester, N.Y./Rush-Henrietta). They led the rest of the way.

Einink finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds while Cheatham had 22 points. Einink was 8 of 15 from the field, Cheatham 7 of 15 (including 4 of 5 from three-point range), as the Blue Devils shot 46.9 percent from the field.

Jamie Curry (Ramsonville/Wilson) added 12 points while Jacque Law (Machias/Pioneer) had 11 points, eight rebounds, and three blocked shots.

Kelsi Ebert led Hilbert (1-3) with 19 points, Corts had 17, Emily Gawlak 13, and Shannon Rogers 10 points and 10 rebounds.
