Fredonia and Stevenson played to a 2-2 men's ice hockey tie Saturday at the Steele Hall Ice Arena. They also played to a 3-3 tie on Friday night. Both games went into overtime.

Stevenson's Aaron Murray netted the Saturday equalizer at 2:02 of the third period on a shot from the slot. It was Murray's first goal of the season. Liam Walsh earned the secondary assist to go along with his second goal of the season earlier in the game, earning himself the No. 1 star.

Blue Devil junior goaltender Eric Bogart (London, Ontario) stopped a breakaway with just over five minutes left in regulation and stymied a 2-on-1 Stevenson scoring chance with a glove save midway through overtime. Bogart finished with 33 saves to earn the No. 2 star.

Fredonia's Jimmy Morgan (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) earned the No. 3 star. It was his goal midway through the second period which put Fredonia on top 2-1.

Stevenson goaltender Jacob Caffrey finished with 36 saves, 30 of them in the final two periods plus overtime. Caffrey had 47 saves in Friday's game.

The Blue Devils led 1-0 after the first period on a goal by Ryan Dunn (Rockland, Mass.), a rising shot from the right circle into the upper right corner. It was Dunn's third goal of the season and his second in two games.

Walsh's goal at 7:39 of the second period came on a power play, a wraparound shot which beat Bogart to his left side. Morgan countered with his sixth goal of the year, a short-side shot off a drop pass from Tyler Riter (Orchard Park).

Murray's game-tying goal was the end result of a three-way passing play with Houston Wilson and Walsh.

After the overtime ended, the teams concluded their weekend with a shootout agreed to by the coaches prior the contest. Mike Davis and Doug Rose were successful for Stevenson while Caffrey stopped both shots taken on him. The final result, however, goes into the record books as a tie.
